England confirm squad numbers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
England has confirmed its squad numbers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with them suggesting Jordan Pickford has held onto his starting spot.
Since being recruited, Pickford has been a dependable component of Gareth Southgate’s squad and has been instrumental in the team’s trips to the 2018 World Cup semifinal and the Euro 2020 final.
Pickford’s position has been threatened by Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale, despite the fact that he was one of the few Everton players to escape from the first half of the Premier League season with credit. The fact that he was given the number one shirt, though, is a strong indication that he has resisted the challenge.
Ultimately, though, it is challenging to extrapolate too much from the list given that the vast majority of players are sporting the same jersey numbers they were for Euro 2020.
