- Sam Larry is not a Member of the Royal Family – Elegushi Royal family releases statement following petition released by Mohbad before his death
The Elegushi Royal Family has issued an official statement in response to the petition made by the late singer Mohbad prior to his passing.
Mohbad, a 27-year-old musician, had previously lodged a petition that recently came to light, in which he detailed an incident where Lagos socialite Sam Larry and his associates disrupted his music video shoot with Zlatan Ibile. In the petition, Mohbad alleged that he was physically assaulted by Sam Larry and that his musical equipment worth N5 million was damaged during the incident. Additionally, the petition stated that Sam Larry and his associates claimed to be working for Oba Elegushi.
In their response, the Oba Elegushi Royal Family clarified that Sam Larry is not a member of their royal family and does not have any affiliation or association with Oba Elegushi in any capacity. This statement aims to distance the royal family from any involvement in the incident and to clarify the status of Sam Larry’s alleged connections to them.

PRESS STATEMENT The Elegushi Royal Family of Eti-Osa wishes to put on record the misinformation on the media space involving Samson Brinfolami Balogun (AKA Sam Larry) Samson Balogun is not a member of the royal family and does not work for the royal family or king in any capacity. Like other celebrities, politicians, religious and community leaders, he visits the palace to pay homage to the king and seek royal blessings just like other members of the public.
While extending our condolences to the family and friends of late erioluwa Aloha (known as Mohllad), we would like to add our voice to the calls for a thorough investigation into circumstances surrounding his death, with a view to unravelling any foul play.
