    Nigerian hip hop, R&B and Afrobeat artist, Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, popularly known as Eedris Abdulkareem, has said he feels strong and is ready for a kidney transplant after fans reportedly raised over N1m for his surgery via his GoFundMe account.

    Recall, the singer is currently undergoing dialysis and is expected to go for a transplant on July 27, 2022. His wife, Yetunde, is said to be a kidney donor.

    During the week, Eedris Eedris expressed his gratitude to his friends and supporters. He also stated that faith and prayers have been his driving force.

    He wrote on Instagram, 

    “First, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you all for the unalloyed love and care you have shown me since this sad news broke. I sincerely appreciate and love you all for this outpouring of genuine love and care.

    “I am feeling better, strong and agile in body and soul, while awaiting the doctor’s summons for the surgery procedures scheduled for anytime from now. Prayers, faith and staunch belief in God’s awesome works are the things that drive me.”
