Drake breaks The Beetles’ record for the most cumulative weeks on the Billboard 200

Global superstar Drake has made history by becoming the artist with the most cumulative weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, surpassing the iconic The Beatles.
This achievement comes off the back of his latest collaborative album with PartyNextDoor, titled ‘$ome $exy 4 U’. The album became his 14th No. 1 on the Billboard 200, propelling Drake past The Beatles’ previous record. The album’s success also means Drake ties with Jay-Z and Taylor Swift as the artists with the second-most No. 1 albums in history.
With 14 chart-topping albums, Drake is now just five No. 1 albums behind The Beatles’ record of 19.
‘$ome $exy 4 U’ marks Drake’s first release since his publicized beef with Kendrick Lamar, which led to the hit record ‘Not Like Us’.
The song, however, became the subject of controversy and even sparked a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG). Drake accused the label of failing to stop the release of the track, which he claimed contained falsehoods about him.
Additionally, Drake alleged that UMG inflated the song’s Spotify streams using unethical methods like bots to boost its popularity.
As for 2025, it looks to be another massive year for Drake. Recently, he was named the highest-selling rapper of 2024 by the IFPI, and he ranks as the second-best-selling artist globally of that year, just behind Taylor Swift, who topped the list for the third consecutive year and fifth time overall.
Drake’s success in 2024 continues his streak of dominance, as this marks his 10th year in the top 10 of the IFPI’s global artist ranking, and the 10th time he has been the highest-selling rapper globally, ahead of Eminem (No. 8) and Kendrick Lamar (No. 9), with whom he had a high-profile rap beef earlier in 2024.
