“Level Up” is an uptempo dance song full of positivity. The track pushes the idea of ignoring the hate and pushing through to heights. The fact that Ciara holds onto the term “level up” is in itself an act of resistance. The first time people noticed her using the term was when she used it in a twitter post that earned her serious backlash. Ciara is clearly set on doing things her way. As reflected in the song’s lyrics, “you can talk all you want.”
