Newcastle to sign Sandro Tonali from AC Milan on six-year deal in record deal worth €70m.
Sandro Tonali of AC Milan is on his way to join Newcastle United in the summer in a record-breaking €70 million move.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies and AC Milan have reached an agreement for the midfielder Sandro Tonali to join them on a six-year contract. The report also states that Tonali will receive a salary of €7 million annually until 2029 as well as €2 million in bonuses. For an Italian player, the contract represents a sales record.
The Magpies have been pursuing the Italian for a while, and their original offer of €50 million (£43 million/$55 million) was rejected by the Italian giants. Later, they raised their bid, luring Milan to sell the 23-year-old.
The international player from Italy played 48 games for Milan in all competitions, with two goals and ten assists. He might turn out to be a useful addition to Eddie Howe’s team as they prepare to compete in the Champions League again in 2023–24.
With Sadio Mane of Bayern Munich being linked to a return to the Premier League, Newcastle may now look to add additional players to the assault.
