Don Jazzy speaks on Mavin Records’ present situation.

Label Records in Nigeria have been doing well at least to their own standards. Some signed artistes do leave labels before expired deals while some do leave in peace.

Don Jazzy speaks on Mavin Records' present situation. If you are on twitter, you will notice Don Jazzy has been a trending topic for hours, ask me why? It all happened when a fan threw question at the mavin records boss as regards the status of the label.

A fan had asked why musicians were leaving his record label to which replied: ‘Why do u graduate from secondary/university? People grow bro.’

This may not be unconnected with the recent excite of pop star Reekado Banks who left the label in December 2018 to form his own ‘BANKS MUSIC’ imprint.

Many music commentators are of the opinion that Mavin records, founded in May 2012, has not matched up with the defunct MoHits Records  which was led by Don Jazzy and former partner D’banj, despite the array of talented stars signed to it including Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Dr Sid, Dija, and more recently, Johnny Drille, and the DNA twins.

Another fan even blatantly told the Mavin boss that his label was dead, adding that even the ‘Leaners and Upcoming’ were leaving.

Mr Jazzy, is mavin dead or Buhari’s change has hit your label? This one your top artistes are leaving, leaving behind the learner’s and the upcoming? https://t.co/QfeBNJPwgW

But Don Dorobucci as he is fondly called disagrees that his label is dead. He, however, admitted that this period isn’t the best times for them before asking for prayers from the fan.:

Naaa we never die. We just faint small. E Dey happen. Pray for us to recover if you can. ???????????????? https://t.co/iIHrDgjBDV

Receiving all the feedback from several disgruntled fans, Don Jazzy said he has taken notes and the label was working on all the suggestions of their true fans.

Well we haven’t satisfied the high expectations you have so far. We have taken notes and suggestions from some very loyal fans and have been working on some great ideas. Pls stay tuned during the year. Your feedbacks are always helpful. ???????? https://t.co/4LEvPWqgev
