Michael Collins Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy, has revealed how he met star vocalist Wande Coal.
Don Jazzy recalls meeting the amazing Wande Coal while attending a gig at Unilag, in an interview with a famous UK-based Nigerian broadcaster and enthusiastic supporter of Afrobeat in the diaspora, Olajide Adesope, on his Afrobeats Podcast.
Wande Coal and his group approached Don Jazzy, claiming that they wanted to dance for Jazzy, who was a major figure in the music industry at the time.
After dancing for Don Baba J, the group went on to say that they could also sing, and it was then that Don Jazzy noticed Wande artistic brilliance.
The Music executive and he swapped phone numbers, and the rest is history.
On the podcast, Don Jazzy also discusses how the COO of Mavin Records, Tega Oghenejobo, plays an important role in the growth of Mavin and the music industry at large.

He went on to say that D’Banj’s personality played a big role in his development. The Veteran Music producer claims that he was comfortable with his space most of the time, but D’Banj kept pushing him to do more.
