Don Jazzy speaks on Davido’s passion for music
Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records CEO Michael Collins Ajereh, sometimes referred to as Don Jazzy, has shared the story of his first meeting with DMW label owner and global phenomenon David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido.
On Friday, January 12, 2024, Don Jazzy shared thoughts on the most recent edition of the Zero Conditions podcast. He said that he had seen Davido’s talent early on when the two of them worked at Mo’ Hits Records.
The musician Don Jazzy talked about his initial thoughts on Davido, believing that the singer and his record company, DMW, would become well-known in the music industry.
In his words, “When I heard Back When, I thought Davido was going to be the next me because he sang and produced the song.”
Don Baba J said that he saw Davido truly enjoying music when asked whether he thought he would be successful. Even though OBO is wealthy, Don Jazzy pointed out that his actual love for music shines in what he posts on Twitter and Instagram.
Don Jazzy said that he thought Davido would continue to lead a luxurious lifestyle and travel on his own airplane even if he decided to give up music.
“Go to Davido’s page; he has a passion for music, especially if he stops today, he is still going to fly a private jet,” Don Jazzy stated, emphasizing Davido’s true dedication to music beyond financial success.
