Mavin Records founder and ace producer, Don Jazzy, has reflected on one of the biggest personal sacrifices he made while chasing his dreams in the music industry.

During a recent chat on the Echo Podcast, the 42-year-old admitted that marriage is the one aspect of life he didn’t imagine he would put aside.
“I never thought I would be 40-something and not be married. Maybe that’s the one I lost. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, I’m totally fine,” he said.
The hitmaker, who has shaped the careers of superstars like Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Ayra Starr, revealed that although the journey came with trade-offs, he remains content with his accomplishments.
According to him, if he wasn’t running a record label, he would still find a way to stay connected to music probably as an entertainer or social media influencer.
Before rising to the top of Africa’s music scene, Don Jazzy experienced marriage once. Back in 2003, while living in London, he wed model and writer Michelle Jackson. The union, however, ended after two years.
In previous interviews, he attributed the breakup to his relentless focus on music, which made it difficult to sustain a family life. Despite the separation, he has continued to speak fondly of Michelle, describing her as a “beautiful soul” and noting that they still maintain a cordial relationship.
