End of an era? DJ Zinhle shuts down business.
In accordance with reveals, DJ Zinhle has shut down one of her businesses that has been in the process of liquidation since November of last year. Businesswoman and singer DJ Zinhle has allegedly closed Jiyane Atelier, a premium furniture store, nearly four years after announcing its opening.
According to speculations, the business has been in the process of being liquidated since November of last year and is in danger of being deregistered for non-compliance with yearly return requirements. Additionally, the online store’s website is no longer accessible.
“Whether they trade or not, all businesses and closed corporations are required by law to file their yearly returns with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), according to BizPortal. Companies must file annual returns within 30 business days of the day they become due before they are in violation of the Companies Act.
In October 2019, DJ Zinhle’s furniture store had its formal debut. It included leather and velvet couches, ottomans, headboards, and other items. The business furnished television studios in 2021 for a variety of programs, including Anele Mdoda’s Buzz on Honey TV (DStv channel 173)”.
Records, however, suggest that DJ Zinhle was not the proprietor of Jiyane Atelier, according to Sunday World.
According to the news, Brandon Wesley Reynolds, Zinhle’s longtime acquaintance, is listed as the only director on the business registration paperwork. Using a Cape Town address, Reynolds is said to have registered the company in 2019.
Thabile Malatjie, a former employee of DJ Zinhle who is suspected of stealing goods worth thousands of rands from the Era By DJ Zinhle store in Menlyn, will appear to stand trial, according to a report last week.
Furthermore, Malatjie, 23 years old went before the Hatfield Magistrate’s Court and requested mediation, according to Lumka Mahanjana, the regional spokeswoman for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), in an effort to resolve the situation without moving through with the case. However, the senior public prosecutor rejected the mediation.
Meanwhile, Malatjie was detained on January 12 after police searched her residence and discovered the allegedly stolen goods. She was freed on an R5,000 bond, and the trial date was moved to July 24.
This employee is not the first to be accused of stealing from DJ Zinhle. Last year, City Press reported that the DJ had filed a lawsuit against Phumzile Diko, a former employee, who was accused of stealing R500 000 from the DJ’s company account.
