The South African DJ made this known in an interview with Adesope Olajide.
South African record producer, DJ and vocalist Themba Sonny boy Sekowe, known professionally as DJ Maphorisa, has revealed how Nigerian superstar Wizkid had introduced him to the Amapiano sound.
In a recent interview with Adesope Olajide, DJ Maphorisa revealed that Starboy Wizkid was the one who first introduced him to the amapiano sound.
During the interview, he discussed how Big Wiz first heard about the sound from a DJ while they were out and questioned what it was all about.

The South African DJ stated that he had to do research as to what the sound was all about, and that was how he got into the sound.
