DJ Cuppy shared her experience with Racism and how her career was also affected.

DJ Cuppy was interviewed by Essence Magazine during which she spoke about her career, her new job as Apple Music Radio host, and her Forthcoming EP, “Orignal Copy”.
DJ Cuppy was asked why she took the decision to join Black Live Matters protests in London and what motivated the decision.
DJ Cuppy said her own experience with racism motivated her to join the protest. She shared how when she was sent to a boarding school in the U.K and she was the only black girl in the school.
She said that while in the school she was mocked for her hair type, her accent and was the always the last person to be chosen during sports games.
She also told the stories of how she would be booked for some events but she would be refused entrance until they realize she was the DJ.
She was also asked how she deals with sexism and racism as a DJ. She said that she had to work twice hard and she doesn’t let negativity weigh her down.
