Reactions trail DJ Cuppy’s controversial relationship advice for women
Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress DJ Cuppy has caused a stir on social media after sharing relationship advice aimed at women, particularly focusing on the dynamics of intimacy in relationships.
In a Snapchat post that quickly went viral, Cuppy warned women against rushing into sexual activity early in a relationship, claiming it could negatively impact their chances of securing a long-term commitment.
In the post, Cuppy shared an excerpt from a book that read, “Once you meet a man and release your body to him for the first time, you have already reduced your chances of getting a good relationship. It’s now only a fifty-fifty chance. A woman’s leverage is now different than it was when she started the relationship. Before he knew anything about her, the chances were better.”
The controversial advice also extended to cautioning women about the places they should avoid if they are trying to stay committed to a no-sex stance in a relationship.
The book’s page included a warning: “Go into a man’s bedroom. Go into his hotel room. Go to an empty parking lot. Go to a secluded area. Go into his home for a drink.”
Cuppy’s message has since sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing with her viewpoint while others criticized it as outdated.
