DJ Cuppy claims that she is underpaid and undervalued in comparison to her male counterparts.
Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, has stated that she is underpaid and undervalued in comparison to her male counterparts.
The singer of “Jollof On Jet” mentioned this on her Instagram story while discussing her work and personal life.
The billionaire daughter argued on Instagram, quoting an excerpt from an interview she released on International Women’s Day, that women must be strong to survive in male-dominated sectors.

According to Cuppy, women who go into the entertainment industry would have to work twice as hard as men and present themselves in a manner designed by the male folk in order to be accepted.
She advised women seeking to explore a career in the industry that they should not do their work with the aim of seeking validation.
In her words; ”On navigating and thriving in a male dominated industry:
Going into a male-dominated space, you have to have zeal and be strong. Women have to work twice as hard to get half as much done. Compared to my male counterparts, I’m still underpaid, undervalued and according to them, I have to have a particular aesthetic which I fight to this day.
My advice is to be at peace with yourself because men in that industry will tell you that you are not good enough. You have to come at peace with yourself and know that you are enough.
You will have a difficult time if you work just for validation. Do what you love. Understand your environment and build on your strengths.”
