“My heart was the most played this year” – DJ Cuppy
DJ Cuppy has expressed her sentiments about her relationship experiences in 2023. On her Twitter page on Thursday, December 14, she stated that her heart experienced the most challenges this year.
Earlier in the year, DJ Cuppy’s 8-month-old engagement to British boxer Ryan Taylor came to an end for undisclosed reasons. In her recent statements, Cuppy acknowledged that life is full of “ups and downs,” emphasizing that, regardless of one’s background, life can be unpredictable.
Speaking at the Wimbiz London Conference, DJ Cuppy opened up about her breakup with her fiancé, her failed jewellery business, and her struggles with academic pursuits at Oxford University. Despite her affluent background, she highlighted the uncertainties in life, expressing acceptance of the ebb and flow of experiences.
Cuppy shared insights into her journey, recalling the challenges she faced with a jewellery line she established at the age of 28, nearly failing at Oxford University, and experiencing a breakup in her relationship. Her openness reflects the universal nature of facing setbacks and uncertainties, even for those who are perceived as successful.
In her words, “Failure is inevitable. We will all have failures in our personal lives and in our professional lives. Now I can stand here and tell you how unpredictable my life has been despite being from a privileged background. Whether it’s my failed jewellery line which I did at 28 years old or going to the University of Oxford at 29 and almost failing class.
“Last year, I got engaged and I’m no longer engaged but such is life and I know my story is still happening and there’s more to come and I’m okay with the uncertainty”.
In a playful post on Thursday, DJ Cuppy humorously told her fans not to bother checking Spotify Wrapped to know how often her songs were played. Instead, she quipped that it’s her heart that experienced the most of that, playfully alluding to her emotional journey and the challenges in her relationships throughout the year.
DJ Cuppy tweeted, “Meanwhile, you don’t have to check Spotify, my heart was the most played this year 😅”
