“I’ve been shouting Big Wiz’s name for years, he didn’t give me anything” – DJ Chicken slams hypeman GOE for wasting N20 million gift from Wizkid
Controversial entertainer and disc jockey Oluwamayowa Adeyanju, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has criticized hypeman God Over Everything (GOE) for mismanaging the N20 million gifted to him by Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.
In 2024, GOE, whose real name is Adeshina Taiwo, made headlines when Wizkid surprised him with a generous cash gift for hyping the singer and creating a viral track in his honour. However, months later, the hypeman revealed that the N20 million had dwindled to a mere N20,000, sparking debates on financial prudence.
GOE recently took to Instagram to lament his plight, blaming his dwindling fortune on fair-weather friends who abandoned him after the money ran out. “Back then, when Wizkid gave me N20 million, everyone suddenly wanted to be my friend. People brought their cars to take me out, and we spent the money together. But now that the money is gone, none of those people are around anymore,” he wrote.
His public grievances have reignited discussions on social media, with many speculating that he might be seeking another financial intervention from Wizkid. The singer, who recently welcomed a baby girl with his partner Jada P, has yet to respond.
Reacting to GOE’s plight, DJ Chicken took to TikTok to berate the hypeman for what he described as a lack of foresight and discipline. Known for his no-holds-barred commentary, DJ Chicken criticized GOE for mismanaging an opportunity others could only dream of.
“You want to collect another one. Me that has been shouting Wizkid for years; he didn’t give me anything,” DJ Chicken said, expressing frustration over not receiving similar recognition despite his years of support for the singer.
The saga has sparked a flurry of reactions online, with netizens divided between criticizing GOE for his financial recklessness and empathizing with his situation. It also raises broader questions about how recipients of sudden windfalls can effectively manage their newfound wealth.
