Big Wiz Cancels U.S. Dates on ‘Morayo’ Tour, Fans Await Official Statement

Nigerian music icon and Grammy Award winner Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has unexpectedly pulled the plug on several of his scheduled U.S. concerts under the ‘Morayo’ tour banner.
The abrupt cancellations have left fans stunned, especially as the shows were billed to mark Wizkid’s grand return to major American stages following the success of his previous tours.
According to updated listings on ticketing platforms, the following performances have been axed:
- June 5 – State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia
- June 7 – Madison Square Garden, New York City
- June 19 – Toyota Center, Houston, Texas
These venues were set to host thousands of fans eager to see the superstar perform live, with the Madison Square Garden date particularly anticipated after his historic sold-out show at the venue in 2022.
As of press time, neither Wizkid nor his management team has issued an official explanation regarding the cancellations. This silence has fueled speculation online, with fans seeking clarity on whether the affected concerts will be rescheduled or scrapped altogether.
The Morayo tour, named after Wizkid’s late mother, was announced with much excitement and was expected to blend emotional tribute with his signature Afrobeats energy.
Despite the setback, die-hard fans remain hopeful that more details will emerge soon to clear the air and possibly revive the shelved shows.
