Director Pink shares message to all women on IWD 2024
Prolific Afrobeat music video producer and director Praise Onyeagwalam, known as Director Pink, has shared a heartfelt message on International Women’s Day, celebrating the strength and resilience of women worldwide.
As one of the few female Afrobeat directors in Africa, Director Pink has left an indelible mark on the industry. Her creative vision has brought to life some of Afrobeat’s biggest visuals, including “Egwu” by Chike and Mohbad, “Single Again” by Harmonize featuring Ruger, “Ole” by Qing Madi ft. BNXN, and “ABRACADABRA” by Naira Marley, Rexxie, and Wizkid.
Her latest visual masterpiece, “Egwu” by Chike and Mohbad, soared to over 1 million views within 24 hours of its release, now amassing an impressive 3.8 million views on YouTube.
In her message, Director Pink commended women for their remarkable achievements and encouraged them to pursue their aspirations without comparison to others.
She motivated them to persevere in their endeavors, emphasizing the importance of appreciating the journey of personal growth and finding joy in the process of development. Her words serve as an inspiration to women everywhere, empowering them to reach for the stars and make their dreams a reality.
She wrote: “Dear Woman, It is extremely hard to build a successful career, I totally get it, bae. But one thing you must learn to do is enjoy your growth process. I can tell you to have goals but sometimes goals have a way of messing your mind up when you get to that point in your life where you feel like you haven’t achieved those said goals.
Yes, you can have dreams and aspirations, but do not compare other people’s growth to yours. We all have different timelines. Keep putting in the work, Enjoy the growing process, the challenges, don’t get pressured by your dreams and aspirations. The sweetest part about success is getting there and not even realizing you are there. It only gives you the hunger to be more successful. Happy International Women’s Day! Cheers to More Enjoyable Growth!”.
