Renowned Nigerian music video director Director Pink has opened up about how she came to helm the production of the “Abracadabra (Remix)” video, a star-studded collaboration featuring Wizkid, Skiibii, Rexxie, and Naira Marley, after the original concept was reportedly rejected by Wizkid himself.

In a recent interview, the vibrant, fast-rising filmmaker, celebrated for her bold visual storytelling and creative direction, revealed that her involvement in the project happened almost by accident.
“They said Wizkid didn’t like the first idea for Abracadabra, so I became the second option, even though I’m their guy,” she said with a laugh.
What started as an unexpected call quickly turned into a major opportunity. Director Pink took charge of a high-pressure set, orchestrating four of Afrobeats’ biggest personalities with finesse and humor.
“Had to control four men on set — Wizkid, Skiibii, Rexxie, and Naira Marley,” she recalled playfully. “Being a girl has its perks.”
The result was a visual spectacle—vivid, electrifying, and packed with the kinetic energy that defined the hit single. Upon release, the video received widespread praise for its creative flair, colourful palette, and seamless coordination of star power, further solidifying Director Pink’s status as a creative force in Nigeria’s visual arts scene.
Her story sheds light on the fast-paced world of Afrobeats video production, where adaptability and leadership are just as important as artistic vision. By stepping in under pressure and turning a potentially tricky project into a standout success, Director Pink continues to carve her name among the leading voices shaping the next era of Nigerian music visuals.
