Denmark releases their 21-man squad from the 26-man squad ahead of the Qatar World Cup 2022.
Denmark will aim to emulate their emotionally charged run to the Euro 2020 semifinals in Qatar, minus the drama of Christian Eriksen’s horrifying collapse as they announced their official 21-man squad from the 26-man squad for the Qatar World Cup.
In choosing 21 of the 26 players who will represent Denmark at the World Cup in Qatar on Monday, coach Kasper Hjulmand showed loyalty to the players who contributed to recent successful World Cup qualifying and Nations League campaigns.
The final list must be submitted to FIFA by Monday, November 13, with the World Cup scheduled to begin on Nov. 20, and the last five players will be announced following the final round of European matches before the competition.
Eriksen made his international comeback in March after suffering a heart attack during Denmark’s opening game of Euro 2020 and the Manchester United midfielder has been named in Kasper Hjulmand’s final squad for the tournament in Qatar.
Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Leeds United’s Rasmus Kristensen and Brentford duo Mathias Jensen and Mikkel Damsgaard are all included.

Defenders: Simon Kjaer (AC Milan), Joachim Andersen (Crystal Palace), Joakim Maehle (Atalanta), Andreas Christensen (Barcelona), Rasmus Kristensen (Leeds United), Jens Stryger Larsen (Trabzonspor), Victor Nelsson (Galatasaray), Daniel Wass (Brondby).
Midfielders: Thomas Delaney (Sevilla), Mathias Jensen (Brentford), Christian Eriksen (Manchester United), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Tottenham).
Forwards: Andreas Skov Olsen (Club Bruges), Jesper Lindstrom (Eintracht Frankfurt), Andreas Cornelius (Copenhagen), Martin Braithwaite (Espanyol), Kasper Dolberg (Sevilla), Mikkel Damsgaard (Brentford), Jonas Wind (Wolfsburg).
Denmark won nine out of ten games to easily qualify for Qatar and made an emotional run to the semifinals of Euro 2020.
They start their Group D campaign against Tunisia on November 22, before facing France — whom they beat in a Nations League game in September — on November 26 and then Australia four days later.
