D’Banj’s Koko FC Joins Lagos Liga, to Battle Don Jazzy’s Supremos FC
Nigerian music icon D’banj has made a splash in the sports world by launching his football club, Koko FC.
This comes just days after fellow music industry heavyweight Don Jazzy revealed his football club, Supremos FC. Koko FC will participate in a competition featuring a remarkable N50 million prize, which is one of the largest per-game prizes in Nigerian football.
D’banj has invited aspiring footballers to upload a one-minute video showcasing their skills on ‘The Cream Platform,‘ with the most-voted players each week being invited to a physical game for the final team selection.
This initiative has created excitement among fans and football enthusiasts, marking D’banj’s entry into football as he expands his influence from music to sports.
This new development adds to the growing intersection between Nigerian entertainment and sports.

D’banj’s newly launched Koko FC will be competing alongside 11 other teams in the Lagos Liga, including Supremos FC, which was founded by his longtime friend and fellow music mogul, Don Jazzy.
This league is set to be a major platform for both non-professional players and seasoned football veterans, featuring 7-a-side matches with an enticing prize pool of N50 million per game—the largest in Nigerian football history.
Expressing his excitement, D’banj said, “I’m thrilled to take my passion for football to the next level with Koko FC,” highlighting how the Lagos Liga will blend Nigerian talent with entertainment.
The league promises to be an “epic matchup” between clubs, with D’banj eagerly anticipating a clash with other teams, including Supremos FC.
The Lagos Liga aims to provide a fresh platform for showcasing Nigerian football while integrating entertainment and fan engagement.
Aside from the football matches, there will also be the Fans Challenge and Skills Challenge, offering prizes and opportunities for fans to immerse themselves in the experience.
Lagos Liga is set to kick off this December, and the involvement of D’banj, Don Jazzy, and others is poised to make it a thrilling and unforgettable spectacle for football and entertainment fans alike.
