Nigerian global music sensation D’Banj has released his highly anticipated fifth studio album, “The Entertainer – D’Sequel,“ along with the visuals for its lead single, “Koko.”
This album is a creative fusion of Afrobeats and Afropop, featuring eleven songs and two bonus tracks. It boasts a star-studded lineup, including Grammy Award winner Wyclef Jean, Congolese icon Awilo Logomba, Youssou N’Dour, American star Akon, and South African megastar Chechi Sarai, alongside the legendary Egypt ’80 Band, formerly led by the late Fela Kuti.
As a follow-up to his 2008 magnum opus, “The Entertainer,” this new album includes collaborations with prominent Nigerian artists such as Phyno, Timaya, Kayswitch, Zlatan, Peruzzi, Bhadboi Oml, and Chuchu Lee. In his commitment to nurturing new talent, D’Banj also features Specikinging, a rising star from his talent discovery project, Cream Platform.
Expressing his excitement, D’Banj shared, “Life is a maze of self-discovery, and my new album, *The Entertainer – D’Sequel*, confirms this truth to me. It reflects my growth as an artist and my ongoing dedication to pushing the boundaries of African music. The past 20 years have been an incredible journey, and I am deeply grateful for the love and support I’ve received. I’m thrilled to share this new chapter in my musical journey with my fans.”
Propelled by a partnership with creative powerhouse The Temple Company and leading music company Gamma, D’Banj continues to celebrate his 20-year milestone with a series of intimate live performances and concerts in major cities worldwide.
He will also connect with fans through exclusive meet-and-greet events, mentoring sessions, and thought-leadership engagements.
Commenting on the album, Sipho Dlamini, gamma’s President for Africa & Middle East, said, “The only way we grow and conquer the global music market as Africans is by understanding that no one wins alone. Working with African giants like D’Banj, the team at Temple, and others is the beginning of something monumental—not just for Nigeria or West Africa, but for the entire continent. Go out and stream this album. Let’s show the world that Africa is ready to lead.”
Following the release of “The Entertainer – D’Sequel,” D’banj has unveiled the music video for “Koko,” a testament to his enduring legacy as the Koko Master.
