In its first week on Spotify, Davido’s song “Timeless” creates history.
Award-winning Afrobeat artist David Adedeji Adeleke, known professionally as Davido has made history by setting a record for the most streams in a debut week on Spotify Nigeria with his “Timeless” album.
Davido released his highly anticipated fourth album on March 31, 2023. The album has been setting records ever since it came out, the most recent being a new record for the first week of listening on Spotify Nigeria.
The 17-track album has set records across streaming platforms as it becomes the most streamed album in a week on Boomplay, Apple Music Africa, Audiomack Global, and Spotify Nigeria.
The level of streams for Davido’s album “Timeless” in its first week on Spotify Nigeria broke its previous record barely 24 hours after it was released.
The album has amassed an astounding 14.5 million streams in just one week, surpassing the previous record of 4.89 million streams set by Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini.”

Recall, OBO has made history by becoming the first African musician to have an album debut at number one on the US iTunes charts with the “Timeless” project.
This is as the album topped the chart on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, making history in the process as the first African album to reach Number 1 in the world’s biggest music market.
‘Timeless,’ by Davido, has continued to break records throughout the world. The record, which was released on March 31, has hit a new milestone after only 6 days!
In addition, On April 23, 2023, Davido is scheduled to do his first performance in Nigeria in months on April 23, 2023, at Tafa Balewa Square in Lagos.
