YouTube removes Davido’s wedding hit ‘Ogechi remix’ music video over copyright issues
The much-celebrated wedding song “Ogechi Remix” by famous Nigerian singer Davido Adeleke has been removed from YouTube due to copyright issues. The song, which was performed live at Davido’s lavish wedding to Chioma on June 25, 2024, quickly became a highlight of the year.
“Ogechi Remix,” a collaboration featuring BoyPee, Hyce, and Brown Joel, was released on the day of the wedding and rapidly gained popularity among fans.
The music video, uploaded on July 19, 2024, showcased Davido’s deep affection for his wife, Chioma, through heartfelt lyrics and stunning visuals.
However, recent developments have stirred controversy online. The music video for “Ogechi Remix” has been taken down from Davido’s YouTube channel due to copyright claims.
While the audio of the song remains available on BoyPee’s official YouTube page, the video itself has been removed.
Adding to the confusion, Davido is not credited as the official artist on the YouTube page for the song, leading to speculation about the ownership and rights to the track.
It appears that the original version of “Ogechi,” which was later remixed by BoyPee and his collaborators, was created by a different artist prior to the remix.
This unexpected removal has sparked discussions among fans, who are eager to see how the situation will unfold.
