    Afrobeats megastar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has chosen a reflective tone rather than joining the public commentary following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

    The former Nigerian leader passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at a London medical facility after a prolonged illness.

    While tributes, criticisms, and mixed sentiments have flooded social media from fans and celebrities alike, Davido has remained noticeably silent on the matter at least directly.

    Instead, the ‘Timeless‘ hitmaker, currently on his 5ive Tour, took to Instagram to share a profound quote that many fans believe may allude to the national mood. He posted:

    “I’ve learnt that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

    The quote—attributed to celebrated American author Maya Angelou, was accompanied by emojis and tour-related hashtags, prompting speculation online.

    Some interpreted it as a subtle nod to the late president’s polarizing legacy, while others viewed it as a general reflection on life and relationships.

    Though Davido has not explicitly addressed Buhari’s passing, the timing and sentiment of the post have added to the ongoing conversations around the former president’s impact and the complicated emotions his death has stirred among Nigerians.
