Davido speaks on Burna Boy, Wizkid and his place in the ‘Big 3’ conversation

Afrobeats heavyweight Davido is offering clarity and calm to one of Nigerian music’s most talked-about topics — the “Big Three” conversation.
In a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, the Feel crooner got real about his career, his upcoming album 5IVE, and where he stands with fellow music titans Wizkid and Burna Boy.
When asked about the ongoing rivalry chatter that often pits him against Wizkid and Burna, Davido shrugged off the drama with a simple response: “I’m just me.” Unlike Wizkid’s elusive nature or Burna Boy’s fiery rebel energy, Davido described himself as someone who just loves good vibes and living life out loud.
While fans have often speculated about tension between the trio, Davido laid it out clearly — those friendships are no longer what they once were. “I don’t have a personal relationship with them. I did at some point in time,” he admitted.

But rather than dwell on rivalries, the DMW boss focused on how far Afrobeats has come. “The culture is so big now. The conversation is bigger than just us,” Davido said, highlighting how newer stars like Rema and Ayra Starr are changing the game.
With 5IVE on the horizon and a Miami white wedding around the corner, Davido is moving with growth, grace, and focus — proving that while the “Big Three” might’ve been the foundation, the house of Afrobeats now has many rooms.
