Davido wants plus-size women to be comfortable in their

Afrobeats sensation Davido recently opened up about the inspiration behind his playful new single, ’10 Kilo’, during an interview on The Ebro Show.
Featured on his newly released fifth album, 5ive, the song praises a love interest, with the Nigerian pidgin term “orobo 10 kilo” used to describe a woman with notably large thighs, likened to a chicken with a substantial build.
The hitmaker explained that the track was created to empower women with fuller figures, encouraging them to embrace their bodies with confidence.
“The song is about being comfortable in your skin… It has a comedic side to it, but that’s a typical Davido record. Afro-Caribbean R&B. That’s what I do,” he shared with Ebro, emphasizing the fun and light-hearted nature of the song.
Since its release, ’10 Kilo’ has quickly become a fan favourite, adding to the growing collection of Afrobeats songs that celebrate plus-size women and body positivity.
Released on April 18, 2025, 5ive is packed with 17 tracks and includes several high-profile collaborations with international music stars.
As Davido gears up for his 5 Alive tour, fans, especially those who resonate with the song’s message, will be eager to see the star perform ’10 Kilo’ live on stage.
