Nigerian megastar Davido has once again set the internet buzzing, this time not for music, but for a fiery social media exchange involving politics, family pride, and a touch of luxury.

The drama kicked off when an X user, Akin Akinwale, weighed in on the ongoing political tension in Osun State.
He commented on reports claiming that the Osun APC was trying to stop Governor Ademola Adeleke Davido’s uncle from joining the party. Akinwale teased that the biggest “plot twist” would be Adeleke winning under the Accord Party and then taking over the APC in the state.
Before long, another user, WEWE ADEFISAYO, dragged Davido into the conversation with a playful jab. In typical Naija banter, he remarked: “If e lose, na Davido go compose song for APC during 2027 campaign.”
The comment suggested that Davido might switch sides politically if things went south for his family.
But Davido, ever quick on the trigger, flipped the joke right back. Rather than entertain the idea of switching political allegiance, he reminded everyone that his family has options far beyond politics. His reply:
“Or we can just go back to our multi billion dollar company…”
The conversation didn’t end there. Another user, Mr Sam, tried to humble him with the popular line: “Oga go sit down for ground joor.”
Davido responded with yet another flex—this time about his lifestyle:
“I’m actually sitting in the air in a Global 7500 cost about 75 million dollars…”
He was referring to the Bombardier Global 7500 private jet, a luxury aircraft worth tens of millions of dollars.
Within minutes, screenshots and reactions spread like wildfire across Nigerian social media. Fans, critics, and neutral observers all joined in, dissecting the intersection of celebrity influence, political discourse, and online culture.
Through it all, Davido managed to defend his family, silence critics with humour, and remind the public once again that he remains one of Africa’s most influential voices on and off the stage.
