Nigerian superstar, David Adeleke also known as Davido has shared a funny story of how he signed an artist who once insulted him on social media.
In an interview with the cast of +44 Podcast, Davido revealed that he had announced the signing of an artist and fans went to dig up an old tweet of his signee bashing him on Twitter.
According to the singer, fans pleaded with Davido not to sign the artist again due to the old tweet, stating that the didn’t want him to join DMW Label.
However, an understanding Davido decided to look away from the controversial tweet as he understood his artist had made it when he was quite immature.
He stated that the signee came to plead with him not to let the tweet hinder his deal with the label and Davido told him he had forgiven it.
“I don’t want to say the artist, but I signed one artist, right? And I think he had tweeted something crazy about me, and this is an artist I just signed that his life is in my hand. This fan went to go and find it, ‘No we don’t want you to sign, you are not with DMW, Davido you are not with our label again’. I said ‘Bro, this guy said this thing when he was I think 18 years old.’ And he came to me, and he was like ‘Oh please, he hopes it’s not going to change anything and I said ‘no, c’mon, like I understand that its social media’.”
When asked by one of the interviewers, if he still swore at the signee for the tweet, he replied in the affirmative and revealed that the artist in question deleted the tweet.

Fans took to the comment section to speculate who the artist in question was and speculated that Davido could either be talking about Mayorkun, Lil Frosh or Yonda.
