New Nigerian record is established by Davido’s “Timeless” across all major streaming platforms.
Afrobeat superstar Davido has had the biggest debut week on all five major Nigerian streaming platforms with the release of his new album ‘Timeless‘
On March 31, 2023, The DMW boss released his fourth album. The highly anticipated 17-track album came off the back of a rare quiet moment from the award-winning artist who has made a name for himself as Africa’s most formidable hitmaker.
A week after its release, “Timeless” has broken several African and Nigerian records across all five of Nigeria’s main music streaming platforms.
Timeless has won the most debut week award across all five of Nigeria’s top streaming services, which is an outstanding demonstration of both the song’s popularity and Davido’s commercial acumen.
The biggest album debut in Spotify Nigeria’s history was made by “Timeless,” which amassed 14.5 million streams during the week of March 31–April 6. Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” had previously held the record with 4.89M streams.

“Timeless” by Davido set a new milestone for the biggest album launch week on Apple Music Nigeria. Also, it broke the record for the most streams for an African album on Apple Music’s global premiere day.
More streams of Davido’s “Timeless” were made in the first 24 hours than any other album in Audiomack’s history (almost 12 million). Also, it was the best week ever for an African or Nigerian album on Audiomack.
‘Timeless‘ has surpassed all previous records for Boomplay Nigeria’s largest launch week. In only four days of release, the album has amassed over 22 million streams on the platform, breaking the previous record of 18.8 million streams set by ‘Love, Damini‘ (July 8–14, 2022).
