Davido shows his philanthropic side once again, as he pledges N300m for orphanages in Nigeria.
In a show of philanthropism, Afrobeats singer Davido has announced the sum of N300 million to be distributed amongst orphanage homes in Nigeria,
This was disclosed in a tweet made by the singer, noting that he and his foundation will do this as his yearly contribution to the nation.
He further disclosed that the disbursement details will be released tomorrow, 21st February, 2024.
It reads: I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow 🇳🇬
Notably, Davido is known to carry out philanthropic duties periodically, whether as a giveaway or charity donations to bodies.
Last year, the singer and his foundation revealed a donation of N237 million to orphanages across the nation.
In his remarks, he wrote in a post, “I’ve always wanted to use my platform to serve others. Thankful that through your generosity, I’ve been able to do so,
“We recently disbursed over N200m to several orphanages in Nigeria, a tradition that started a few years ago around my birthday. Thank you to everyone who donated. With your help, we are changing lives. This is what I mean when I say We rise by lifting others. These are words in action. God bless you all!”
