Nigerian Afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has revealed in a recent statement how his fellow musician Wizkid, pushed him to pursue a career in music.

In an interview, Davido stated that while living in the United States of America (U. S. A.), seeing young artists such as Wizkid trying to break into the Nigerian music industry inspired him to become a singer.

He mentioned that at the time, the top artists were Psquare, D’banj, and 2Baba, but the rise of Wizkid piqued his interest in the Nigerian music industry.

In his words; “I remember being in the club then like the biggest artistes were like Psquare, D’banj, even then Wizkid was like young, really young because I remember like he was just coming up in the game, so the game was coming up.

And I remember that moment I was like I want to do Nigerian music  I want to get on this early, like I can really tall like is going to be big.”
