Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed the deep personal influence behind his latest album, 5ive, revealing the pivotal role his wife, Chioma, played during its creation.
Released on April 18, 2025, 5ive boasts 17 tracks and standout collaborations with Grammy winners Victoria Monét and Chris Brown. The album made a powerful entrance, debuting at No. 2 on the World Albums chart and racking up 7,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
In a recent interview, Davido credited Chioma’s unwavering support and presence as key to the album’s energy.
“Shoutout to Chioma. When I was recording the album, she was around and gave me the energy to work,” he shared.
Davido also revealed that Chioma has a favorite track on the album — the vibey fan-favorite ‘10 Kilo’.
“When I spoke with her two days ago, she’s shifting towards ‘10 Kilo’,” he added with a smile.
