Multiple award-winning Afrobeats star Davido has publicly reacted to a renewed call for a DNA test from a girl who claims to be his daughter, bringing fresh attention to a long-running paternity controversy.
The decade-old dispute between the singer, born David Adeleke, and Ayotomide Labinjo resurfaced after Labinjo’s daughter, Anuoluwapo, shared an emotional message online on January 15, 2026. In her post, the teenager opened up about the psychological toll the issue has had on her childhood.
According to Anuoluwapo, she endured years of bullying in primary school after repeatedly stating that Davido was her father. She revealed that the teasing began when she was just six years old, leaving her emotionally distressed and eventually requiring professional mental health support.
Describing the experience as deeply painful, she said she stopped speaking about her family background when she entered secondary school.
However, as she approaches her teenage years, she is now requesting a final DNA test, explaining that it is important for her to “establish her identity” as she grows into adulthood.
The appeal quickly drew a strong response from Davido, who has consistently insisted that the issue was resolved years ago.
Reacting to a comment on social media suggesting the request should appeal to him as a father, the singer expressed frustration and claimed multiple DNA tests had already been conducted.

His reaction aligns with earlier statements made by his former lawyer, Bobo Ajudua, who revealed last year that DNA tests were carried out at two different reputable medical facilities, including one selected by the Labinjo family, with all results reportedly returning negative.
Despite this, Anuoluwapo maintains that undergoing a fresh, independent test would bring her personal closure and peace of mind.
While the Unavailable hitmaker appears determined to put the matter permanently behind him, the young girl’s account of childhood bullying has sparked renewed debate online, with many questioning the long-term emotional impact of highly publicised celebrity disputes on children caught in the middle.
