Afrobeats megastar Davido has given fans a taste of his upcoming album, 5ive, by previewing two unreleased tracks during a Twitch live stream with Nigerian alternative artist and content creator Cruel Santino.

One of the tracks previewed was produced by his longtime collaborator, Shizzi, the mastermind behind some of Davido’s biggest hits, including his breakout single, ‘Dami Duro.‘

The second snippet, which Davido refrained from revealing the title of, was simply referred to as “track two” on the stream.
During the live session, Davido shed light on why he decided to name the album ‘5ive‘ and gave fans more insights into what to expect from the highly anticipated project.
He also confirmed that Selebobo produced one of the songs, while fast-rising Nigerian star Victony will be featured as a guest artist on the album.

Initially slated for release on March 15, 2025, ‘5ive‘ has now been pushed back to April 18, heightening anticipation among fans.
The year 2025 has already been eventful for Davido. He earned his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammy Awards, where he was nominated for Best African Song Performance for his role on Chris Brown’s ‘Sensational.’
In addition, the singer has been nominated in five categories at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, including the prestigious Artist of the Year.
Ahead of the album’s release, Davido has already dropped two singles—’Awuke,’ a collaboration with Jamaican dancehall star YG Marley, and ‘Funds,’ which features Chike and OdumoduBlvck.
Describing his upcoming album in a social media post, Davido stated, “One straight from the heart,” fueling excitement among his loyal fans.
Among the collaborations on ‘5ive,’ Omah Lay has confirmed his involvement, describing their joint effort as a “perfect partnership” during a recent interview.
Furthermore, Adekunle Gold has teased a possible guest appearance on the album, which many expect to follow the remarkable success of Davido’s record-breaking fourth studio project, ‘Timeless.’
