Nigerian Grammy-nominated superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has spoken candidly about how marriage has reshaped his lifestyle and priorities.

Appearing on The Long Form podcast, the Afrobeats hitmaker reflected on his personal growth, revealing that he’s slowly transformed from being an “outsider” into more of a homebody.
According to Davido, the early days of fame came with unchecked freedom, money, and influence a mix that pushed him into a reckless, party-heavy lifestyle. But those days, he says, are largely behind him.
“Blowing up at a young age with freedom, power and money, I used to be very reckless. I used to go to the club everyday.”
Now, the singer says his idea of fun looks very different.
“But these days, I don’t even go to the clubs. I was in Nigeria for almost two months and I didn’t go out. I was just at home and I was having fun. I was just chilling in my studio, and inviting people to make barbecue for me. It was fun. And before you know it, it’s 3 am or 4:30 am. I just go home, call my wife, sleep off on FaceTime.”
Davido noted that while he still shows up for parties and public functions when necessary, family now comes first. Quiet nights, creative sessions, and time with his wife, Chioma, have taken priority over nightlife a shift he seems fully at peace with.
It’s a softer, more grounded chapter for the global star, showing that even at the peak of fame, growth sometimes looks like choosing home over hype.
