‘Everytime I fight Chioma, my business suffers’ – Davido Opens Up About the Emotional Impact

Davido has opened up about the deep emotional and spiritual impact his wife, Chioma Adeleke, has had on both his personal life and career — revealing that when things aren’t right between them, his business often feels the strain.
In a candid conversation on The Breakfast Club, the Afrobeats superstar shared how Chioma’s presence has always grounded him, long before marriage was even in the picture. “She’s had this hold on me since we were young,” Davido confessed. “Every time we fight, something goes wrong with my business. She’ll be like, ‘Oh, you’re dropping an album and you want to argue with me? Okay now.’ She’s got that grace.”
The DMW boss reflected on their decade-long journey, revealing that they met as teenagers — he was 18, and she was 17 — and grew from friends to partners and now life-long companions.
He also spoke warmly about the way Chioma has embraced his children from previous relationships, particularly highlighting the sweet bond she shares with his daughter Hailey. “My kids love her so much, especially my daughter,” he said. “There were times I was unsure about introducing them, but with time, there’s been so much growth.”
These heartfelt insights come at a pivotal moment in Davido’s life, with buzz surrounding his upcoming album and preparations for his much-anticipated white wedding to Chioma in August 2025, set to take place in Miami.
