    David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, made history by becoming the latest Afrobeats sensation to grace the stage of the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City.

    The sold-out concert, held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, marked Davido’s debut performance at the legendary venue, a momentous occasion for both the artist and his fans.

    As part of his Timeless Tour, Davido delivered a captivating performance, treating the audience to a medley of his chart-topping hits, including “Skelewu,” “Over Dem,” “Dami Duro,” “Gobe,” “Stand Strong,” “Feel,” and “Unavailable.”

    His dynamic stage presence not only showcased his musical prowess but also his commitment to uplifting others in the industry.

    True to his ethos of “we rise by lifting others,” Davido welcomed fellow artists, including Teni, Zlatan Ibile, Fave, The Cavemen, and Ghana’s Stonebwoy, to join him on stage, adding to the night’s vibrant and diverse atmosphere.

    In a touching and unexpected gesture, Davido displayed his generosity by fulfilling the request of a female fan who attended the concert with a poster pleading for help with her loan repayment.

    Touched by her plea, Davido pledged a remarkable $50,000 (over N50 million) towards her loan, demonstrating his willingness to make a positive impact beyond the realm of music.

    Davido now joins the esteemed company of Nigerian superstars such as Wizkid and Burna Boy, who have also graced the stage of Madison Square Garden. His historic performance at the venue underscores Afrobeats’ growing global influence and solidifies Davido’s position as a trailblazer in the genre.
