Davido has provided an update on the funds gathered from his birthday, which will be delivered to orphanages across the country.
The verification procedure for the orphanages who would be the final recipients of the funds has already begun, according to Davido, with a final list due soon. On Saturday, December 11th, 2021, he announced it on his Twitter page.
Recall, Davido posted his bank account number on his social media platforms last month, requesting his fans and friends to donate him 1 million Naira each.
The money started pouring in almost immediately, and he received 40 million Naira in less than two hours. The amount raised in two days amounted to 200 million Naira, and the artist has decided to supplement it with his own funds and put it to good use.
The artist also announced that every year on his birthday, he will launch off an annual charity fundraising.
Davido took to his Ig story to give a breakdown of how the #25O million will be disbursed among the orphanages.

According to him, the verification is ongoing and the official report will be out by the 15th of Dec. There will also be a press release by the 20th of Dec on the selection and disbursement.
OBO also revealed that the National Association of Orphanages is helping with the verification process to prevent cases of fraud.
