Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has once again shown he’s not one to let insults slide, especially when it comes to comments about his family background.

The drama unfolded on X (formerly Twitter) after a user took a jab at the singer’s wealthy upbringing. The critic insinuated that Davido’s rise to fame was purely a result of being born into affluence, writing:

“If no be silver spoon wey them born you with, two of us suppose dey same level by now.”

Davido, never shy when it comes to clapping back, responded sharply:

“Nah ur mama go knack wrong person no be my problem bro.”

The blunt comeback quickly gained traction across social media, sparking a flurry of reactions. While many fans praised Davido’s quick wit and confidence, others felt he took things a little too far.

This isn’t the first time the DMW boss has been dragged over his billionaire roots. As the son of business mogul Adedeji Adeleke, Davido has often faced accusations of being spoon-fed success. But over the years, he’s continuously defended his hustle, building a music empire, winning international awards, and headlining global tours.

Despite the constant chatter, one thing remains clear: Davido has no intention of apologizing for his background and he’s always ready with a response.
