Davido claps back at actress Sarah Martins over ‘5IVE Kitchen’ comment

Afrobeats heavyweight Davido didn’t mince words when responding to Nollywood actress Sarah Martins, who recently offered an unsolicited take on his new venture, The 5IVE Kitchen.
Martins stirred the pot on social media by suggesting that Chioma, Davido’s wife and a known culinary enthusiast, would have been a more fitting face for the project.
She hinted that the initiative should’ve spotlighted Chioma’s cooking skills—sparking a wave of commentary online.
But Davido wasn’t having it. Jumping into the Instagram comment section, the Feel crooner made it crystal clear: The 5IVE Kitchen isn’t a restaurant but a promo campaign in collaboration with the FoodCourt app, created to amplify his new album, 5IVE.
Irked by the inclusion of his wife in the public discourse, Davido didn’t hold back. He demanded that Sarah remove Chioma’s photo from her post, writing bluntly:
“U no get sense. No restaurant was opened, that was a promotional campaign with @foodcourt_app for my album 5️⃣.. now take my wife’s picture off page.”
The heated exchange quickly caught fire online, igniting reactions from fans and followers—some defending Davido’s clapback, others questioning the tone of the drama.
One thing’s for sure: when it comes to his family and brand, Davido doesn’t play.
