Davido features on America’s ABC News as ‘King of Afrobeats’
Nigerian superstar Davido recently celebrated his appearance as a featured guest on ABC News. In the interview, he was labeled the ‘King of Afrobeats,’ and the conversation revolved around his journey to achieving this status.
Davido shared a video of the interview, during which he discussed his growth over the years in the music industry and how he became known as the King of Afrobeats.
The DMW boss noted that while his lifestyle reflects Western culture, about 80 percent of his music is immersed in African culture.
He mentioned that during his upbringing in Atlanta, he enjoyed listening to artists like Ludacris, Ja Rule, and Nelly, who influenced his style. Davido added that his interest in African music began to develop when he was around 14 years old.
Sharing the clip, Davido wrote, “Seeing the way Afrobeats have changed the world and the impact we’ve had in music is beautiful!
