Davido states why he offers prayers before every performance on stage.
David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, has admitted that he prays before any of his stage perfomance.
The DMW mogul spoke about this in a Forbes article on the latest issue of Forbes’ Afrobeats All-Star: Pioneering The New Global Sound.
The “FEM” singer claims that his staff is aware of the fact that he always places his performance in God’s hands before taking the stage.
Davido claimed that Mr. Adedeji Adeleke, his father, taught him many lessons, especially about embracing Christianity and leading a humble life.
He claimed that by studying his father at work, listening to him on the phone, and witnessing his way of living, he was able to absorb important life lessons.
He added that he initially kept his music profession a secret from his family because the custom was to attend college, receive a degree, and then work for his father.
The music excutive said; “I learned so much from being around my dad, watching him in the office, hearing him on the phone, seeing how he handled life. He’s very humble, principled and a strong Christian. Before I step on any stage, my team knows not to mess with my prayers.”
Recall that Mp3bullet.ng reported that Davido revealed he prayed before dropping his Timeless album while speaking on how he got really scared after releasing it.
Davido stated that his latest album ‘Timeless’ seemed like his last chance to deliver an acceptable album. Speaking as a guest on the recent episode of +44 podcast, Davido said the 17-track album was either going to make or break him.
The ‘Assurance’ crooner said he was elated that fans finally accepted his album at the fourth time of asking.
Davido added that he asked everyone to leave one hour before his album was released, prayed and then slept. When he woke up after over 3hours, he got scared because he didn’t see anyone celebrating his album.
