Superstar Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, recently explained why he has more social media followers than his colleagues, Wizkid and Burna Boy.
During an interview with Forbes at the ‘Under 30 Summit’ in Botswana, Davido, the “Feel” crooner discusses why he is the most followed Afrobeats artist in Africa.
Davido claims that the reason he has more fans than Wizkid and Burna Boy is that he is likeable.
The “Unavailable” crooner continues by stating that he used to be the one to tell his wife Chioma to post on social media if it had been some time since she had last done so.
Davido, who has 26.9 million Instagram followers and 13.4 million Twitter followers, claims he is more active on social media than Wizkid and Burna Boy, noting that he used to be skilled in technology when he was younger.
In addition, he said that if he weren’t a musician, he would have been a stand-up comedian, adding that he used to laugh at himself, so he is aware that he is hilarious.
In his words;
“I’m a likeable figure. but apart from that I have always been like the guy to like ‘yo bring your phone, let me make you an Instagram person, even my wife, I am the one that tells her to ‘you have to post today, you haven’t posted’. So I have been that guy like I told you when I was younger I was very good in tech and stuff like that and I use my Instagram, I make it very personal. Yunno what I am saying, like over the years, like if I was doing music, I would have done standup definitely. I know I’m funny like, I be laughing at myself but apart from that I’ve always been that very active, I think Wiz and Bunrna as not as active and social. I’m a very social person”
