Davido Breaks Down Viral Lyric from “Funds”: “I Suppose Relocate, But I Go Buy Belgium”

Afrobeats sensation Davido has shed light on one of the most talked-about lyrics from his infectious new track, Funds — and his explanation is as humorous as it is relatable.
In a candid chat with MixMag, the hitmaker addressed the now-viral line: “I suppose relocate, but I go buy Belgium.”
Fans have been buzzing about its meaning, and Davido was more than happy to clarify.
“You know when you’re in a place where you’re thinking of relocating because you can’t keep up with the cost of living?” he said.
“Then boom — God blesses you, you hammer, and suddenly you’re like, ‘I was supposed to relocate, but now I’ve got so much money, I might as well buy Belgium!’”
As for why he chose Belgium of all places? Davido burst into laughter.
“I don’t know!” he admitted playfully, implying it was more about the absurdity of sudden wealth than any specific tie to the European country.
The track Funds, lifted from his just-dropped album 5ive, is already making waves with its catchy production and sharp storytelling.
