Nigerian Singer, Davido has shared how his music became popular in the US.
Davido was a guest on the Daily Show hosted by Trevor Noah where he spoke on his journey to fame and how he found popularity in the US.
According to him, Nigerians would go to a club in Atlanta and spend $50,000 or more on drinks, with the directive that only Davido’s songs be played for their Dorime.
He also mentioned that he has heard instances of girls going to the club and asking the DJs to play only his tunes.

He said that their requests and displays of affection made him famous. Davido said that when he went to Atlanta in 2013, he sold out all of the venues for his gigs without any marketing or promotion.
