Nigerian afrobeat singers Davido, Don Jazzy, Cuppy, Reminisce, Olamide, Ladipoe and others are rallying to support their colleague, Fireboy, who’s really attempting to break the UK official charts record.

They took to Instagram to support Fireboy DML’s campaign to have his smash single PERU achieve number one on the UK official charts.

Peru was released in the middle of 2021, and the Remix, which included Ed Sheeran, was released late (in December) 2021, along with an official music video.

The song is now at numbers two and three on different UK Official Charts, but if it reaches number one, it will be the first afrobeat record to achieve such feat.

Fireboy, Olamide and the others reposted the picture with #perufornumber1 on their IG stories.

They urged their fans and followers to aggressively stream the song in order to assist Fireboy in making history.
