Afrobeat star, Davido has revealed his long-term aspirations for expanding his creative company into filmmaking.
In a recent interview with Forbes, the 30BG CEO discussed his musical empire and what he plans to do in the near future.
While talking to Steven Bertoni of the prominent American magazine Forbes, Davido stated that he wants to transition from music production to the movie industry and that he plans to start a media firm with the goal of promoting stories by Nigerian writers and directors.
In addition, the Stand Strong crooner expressed a desire to contribute more to his father’s business and take on more responsibilities as he progresses in life.
Davido stated: “I want to get into my dad’s company and learn more about electric generation,” says Davido, who sits on Pacific Holdings’ board of directors and often Zooming into quarterly meetings while on tour.
“I’ve gotten to meet so many important people and presidents from around the world—so I have some leverage to expand the business to new places where people are fans of my music.”
Adedeji Adeleke, Davido’s father, is the founder of Pacific Holdings Limited, which has evolved into an industrial giant whose power plants supply the majority of West Africa’s electricity.
During the same interview, Davido disclosed that Dangote drove him and his mother home from the hospital after his birth.
