Nigerian music superstar Davido has unveiled two new international artists who will be featured on his much-anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive.

The award-winning singer, known for his global collaborations, confirmed in a recent interview that American R&B sensation Victoria Monét and Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea will appear on separate tracks on the album.
Speaking on how his collaboration with Victoria Monét came to life, Davido revealed that he met the Grammy-winning singer at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
He further disclosed that he had previously worked with her producer, which made the connection even more seamless. According to Davido, he was eager to challenge himself musically, which led to their collaboration.
Alongside Monét and Shenseea, Davido’s upcoming album will also feature a star-studded lineup of African artists. The confirmed names include Omah Lay, Chike, Odumodublvck, Victony, and YG Marley.
With 5ive shaping up to be a project close to Davido’s heart, fans are eagerly awaiting the album’s release, anticipating a fusion of diverse sounds and international influences.

While fans initially speculated about the meaning behind the title, a recent Twitch session with the artist provided some insight. When asked about the significance of 5ive, Davido simply responded, “The fifth album.”
However, a deeper look suggests that 5ive might represent more than just the number of projects under his belt. The album seems to mark a bold shift in his musical journey, signaling a new era in his career.
